Completed repairs so I plan to make it this weekend. There is a cold front headed this way and the forecast calls for lower 90s, burrrrr. Is the trophy and Tarter's money all mine or will I have to work for it?

Alrighty, race weekend at Texas Raceway. And, it's old Farts day!!! We are getting one of those rare summer cold fronts to lower the temperature. Forcast says 93 degrees on Saturday. Better break out the coats, huhh?? The lower temp sure sound good to me. Better for nitrous flow ya know, haha.
See ya'll there,
Carl

Considering the 105 temps we had last week, it sure was a great feeling at 95 degrees Saturday night. We had one of those rare summer cold fronts to cool it down some. Felt great in the shade. Another great day at Texas Raceways. Eight cars where in the first round for some racing action. As you can see by the track results, a lot of very close rac'in. By the end of the night, Ricky Marshall takes home the money and the trophy.
I was really looking foward to this weekend to see how my new QA1 shocks would work out. I've had this pull to the left at times for some time now. Been working on this and that to smooth it out. So, after doing some reseach on shocks, time to give the QA1's a test. I ran 6.73 and 6.75 in TT's. Starting line was a tad slick and the track was working the starting line during TT's to improve the traction. I slipped just a little and went straight. I took a pound out of the tires for 1st round and cooked the tires. My car launch like a rocket and went straight. Been a while since I had three good runs in a row without pulling. I'll give the new shocks a A+. Rick's .007 RT to my .035 pretty much did me in with him two off his dail. I had to run it through with just touching the brakes and broke out with a 6.63 on a 6.68 dail. My car ran good, went straight, and I drove it on the trailer. Good night of racing.
I would like to thank this races sponsor "The Bug Shop" and or series sponsor "O'Reilly Auto Parts" for their participation.
See ya'll at the Texas Motorplex in a couple of weeks.
Carl

Lots of work to do !

Yeah Jose was having shifting problems all day and to come to find out that it was the shifter bushing under the shifter was gone. So running first to fourth and running 7.17 et with 97 mph is not to bad. Later

It is good the be back at the track. Ran some 6.90s (1.48 60ft) for the first time with a very conservative tune. I should be happy and leave things alone like Carl told me... NOT!!..... ain't buy that. He has gotten use to being the fastest car and thats ok for now, but not for long, enjoy it while you can bro. Soon you will see this old dude strapped to a blue bottle rocket flashing past you at the finish line. O.J. #521

If have been bangin' all four gears four several years, except when we ran the 3.44 r&p. I think I would prefer using three with a big shot of the goofy gas. When it cools down a little we can put the 3.44 box in and run 1/4 mile at the Bug Out.

It's just an old bracket bomber running mid 6's on six inch tires. Humm, maybe time for a jet change, lol. juice it HARD baby Carl
