:)I herd Rick Tarter won
Anybody awake yet? After 10 cups of coffee, my brain is moving a little. Got in bed at 3:45. Great day, more details will come out as everybodys brain starts to work again after a long night. Rick Tarter vs Al Smith in final and Rick takes the win. Total winner payout(sponsor and track) was $1320.00. Plus prize from BigWig. Biggest payout ever. We will go back to Temple. Those people went way out of their way to take care of us. That track had never seen anything like us. We blew them away with the wheel standing drag bugs. And my new nawss system worked great( I invented NOS ya know ).--Carl--

Carl, I got you beat! I got in bed at 5:00am . Wow what an awesome race!! I can't thank you enough for making me feel welcome and part of your family. Congratulations to all of you for putting on a spectacular show - WOW you guys were fast! Congrats to Rick and Al for winning the big bucks As I was sitting in the stands, I heard many people make comments like "These cars are cool" & "I never would have thought these little cars could go that fast" I was telling Eric there was a huge Biker-dude (he was a Boozefighter) that I overheard say to his buddy "No. let's stay here and watch these VWs run" What a great day! Thanks again.. I'm going back to bed! Chap

Man what a day! First of all I want to congratulate Rick Tarter for the BIG WIN!( That hour went by fast huh Tarter ) Second I want to thank Graffeo, Bubba, Family and Friends for all their help and support yesterday. I really enjoyed talking to some new faces. Third, Marshall thanks for the rocker arm ( VW Racers never leave a man without a helping hand to make the next round, FUNNY where the parts came from so Henslin could make the qtr finals ) - Last but never least I want to thank all the great sponsors and people who came on board to make this race what it was. Lets do it again and plan this a little earlier so people from the East and West could make a race like this to get an even better car count next year. See yall on the 10th and next time Tarter your MINE!

Yeah that's about as funny as why Sean and Snowman didn't have a car to race. Oh by the way I took Karens advice and stuck the part up my ass.

Your right it sucks that the shipping company lost Snowmans case. Is that not Sean's wife's new Beetle he was driving at the race on the left side in the picture above? What you do with the parts is your own buisness,

You know I never met anyone so clueless. I guess you forgot how funny it was that Sean got screwed out of $2600? I guess you think it's funny that Snowman broke over 5 times last year and how much time and money it cost him? I guess you think it's funny that Snowman was promised his tranny put back together but was told to come and pick up his parts and get someone else to build it? I guess you think it's funny that Tom Jenkins lost his job? I guess you think it's funny that Gary got screwed? I guess you think it's funny that Danny got screwed? I guess you think it's funny how Shook had to let Crow rebuild his trannys? I guess you think it's funny that Sean paid for a spool and got a welded Illegal diff? You're a barrell of laughs. Or just stupid.
I don't think it's funny at all that all of my friends are being screwed.

Not sure what I came into there but first time post for me. I was at this event and had a great time. Met a few of you but I'm sure most of you had other things on your minds so probably won't remember. I was there with the Turbo oval and Clint Royal's Turbo Drag Bug. I am posting a video and will post more as I complete more editing. Let me know what you think. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/BE67D8CF-7869-46AB-A55B-B120902BFACF.htmI've been interested in building an all motor race bug but money is always the issue for me. Hope to get out to more of these races.

My point was the person you always make an effort to bash was the same person that helped make sure you got the part you needed. Nothing MORE than that.

Well I don't think telling the truth and trying protect people is bashing. Don't shoot the messenger. I did thank him for the part and I wanted to let his wife know that the part wouldn't fit in there. But I did appreciate her giving me tech tips on installation.

That's me in the video, running against Clint's turbo car with a clean '64 street car that I borrowed from Rickey Graffeo for this race. Thanks again, Rickey.I too had a great time, and met a lot of good people who I hope to see at the track again soon. --Eric

If anyone cares to see, here are some pictures I took at the race: http://web.wt.net/~matbeach/Temple.html69vw, is this your car? http://web.wt.net/~matbeach/DSC00477.JPGNice car! The trip was more than worth it. (I came up from Galveston, not Corpus).
